FxrAndy Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 The best would be a franken by Concepta, then a DLC coated movement from Avitt, then it is from the dealers and they will all be the same crap shoot if it works.
gran Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Lets hope ther will be one but the likelyhood of an truly improved version seem slim........but certainly I hope to be proven wrong on this one.
glennpenn Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 But the franken would be based on a standard rep, right?
concepta Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 But the franken would be based on a standard rep, right? Yepp..but with a modified case
glennpenn Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 Hi Concepta! what is the case mod you do?
jchurch Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 I think it has to be changed so that the genuine movement fits...
FxrAndy Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 It has to be made a little thinner on the bezel side.
glennpenn Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 So if I would get the unmodified version from a dealer... does all the dealers sell the same version, are there newer and older versions? Could Concepta mod any version bought from any dealer? G
FxrAndy Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 You would have to ask Concepta that, i suggest you PM him
Bricciola Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Hi is equal to what you buy, the case must still be amended to accommodate the genuine movement :) I
Jkay Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Concepta take a rep case and drops in as many gen parts as your wallet will allow. Gen movement, dial, hands, crown, strap!! It's the ultimate sort of franken. The dealer versions can't compare, but not everyone has such deep pockets.
oberblender Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 bought a franken portu from concepta... gen movement, gen hands and double AR... I AM EXTREMLY HAPPY WITH IT! The gen movement makes a very big difference. Had the rep movement before... even with graphite treatment... had a jerky seconds hand and died only after a couple of weeks. the geen movement runs sooo smooth... and no worries to start the chrono function and still much cheaper than buying a gen.. only thing I have to get for it is either a gen crown or a rep "probus scafusia" crown and it will be perfect!
