kevinrocker Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Hey Everybody, I've been hanging around the forum for almost a year now, and with the exception of my first purchase, a Tag Heuer Gulf Monaco (yeah it's not a great rep but its just so bloody cool) I haven't bought anything else. I recently traveled to cuba and brought an older watch with a thick leather strap, which was brutal in the heat. I figured I needed something a little more summertime, preferably something dive styled possibly on a rubber strap. Also, for a while I've been thinking of purchasing one good non-rep watch, something automatic that I would be able to use underwater, as I spend a lot of time in the water during the summer. Today, I was at a local watch dealers shop and saw what I believed to be a Seiko Monster, orange faced, on a rubber strap. I don't really know much about the Monster, but I tired it on and thought it was pretty cool and exactly what I needed for summer. Luckly, I was able to get 55% off the original price so I figured why not spend some cash on a good solid watch. When I got home I did a little research and found that its a Seiko SNM037 or "Land Monster," I have no idea if this is an official name or not. Anyway its pretty sweet I think, I'm sure opinions will be divided but for an everyday watch it seems pretty cool. The lume is ridiculous, it's pretty comfortable, seems quite well made, and even has a wacky internal compass that's moved via the 4 o'clock crown. Anyway here's some pictures for those interested...and some friends from Cuba.
Nanuq Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Sweeeeeeet! One of my favorites. My B&R Mod Morphing Monster says hi from Alaska!
tutima Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Great catch... I have the black face version and it has become one of my favorite of late... Thinking to get a rubber or leather strap for it...Nanug's look great...Any other suggestions...?

Nanuq Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 You can't beat a Monster on a Watchadoo "Lumpy" bracelet.
