milesd
I got into PAMs with the 177 and after owning around 6 of them, I finally gave up as they were just trash. I wanted a closed back, but a black dial so the PAM040 is the only way to go. Now that FGD has made Marina dials for Pre-A, I finally have my perfect titanium Marina rep! Big thanks to Tourby for making his crowns, Jakob for reading my harassing PMs about a custom serial number on titanium, FGD for his AMAZING dials! Without these guys, these reps wouldn't be nearly as accurate. And finally to speedy for striping the AR and assembling the watch! DSN PAM040 DSN Saphire with AR removed DSN Hands (will be replaced with FGD hands) DSN CG reworked by Speedy (excellent job!) FGD Dial Jakob custom serial caseback with personal number T48 Crown Dirk strap I always forget to clean up the watch before I take my photos. There was just too much dust to remove in PS so the pics are a little dusty. I'm going to pick up a can of compress air for next time Almost forgot the lume shot: Without the AR and at the angle I took these photos, it's hard to make out the dial. It's really BLACK. I did some minor photoshop to pop the dial a bit just so you could get an idea.

Drulee
Very nice, I didn't realize that my 040 back had a unique S/N until now I just need to find a half decent dial like yours, which is a bute. Did the FGD dial come with a Tritium like lume application?
milesd
That dial has had no work done. It came directly from FGD like that. These truly are his best dials!
w0lf
Looks great! Are you satisfied with the quality of Jakob's caseback?
milesd
Yes and no. The engraver did the wrong font on the OFFICINE PANERAI and TITANIUM 300M. It's not supposed to be stretched like the newer series casebacks. It's supposed to have the same font as the Firenze, but the engraver messed it up. Jakob was upfront about it, but I still bought it as it has the number I wanted and all the correct OP and BB numbers. Plus it's WAY better than DSN's case. Jakob says down the road if he makes more Ti, he'll make me another one and he won't charge me as much to do so. By that time, I hope he will have his own casebacks because this is just a blank from DSN, so it's not as thick. However it's the best thing out there, so I'm happy
w0lf
Yep, sure as hell beats your sterile one that you had on it
babola
Very well done, indeed. I would just add that the FGD pre-A dials are bordering on matte black and charcoal, depending on the lighting and angle sometimes even on the dark grayish side, but this would be correct match to gen pre-A dials which weren't deep jet black in finish. The jet black finish came later in A-series, onwards. So is the case DSN's latest Ti one with cutouts between the lugs, do you know? He told me he now uses cartel cases for manual winds, so if that's correct than I can only say as it looks pretty good from this angle. Any side shots, especially lugs and CG? cheers, b
StormTooper4
That really is a stunning piece of work, especially that dial and CG, sterling work indeed. ST4
milesd
Actually, the lugs are the worst part of the case. I'll post some more photos. If the ulitmate manual reps come out from the cartel, I'll be swapping the case. Here are the lugs. Too fat, even to use on Pre-V
tanya
LOL Another winner Miles. I may need to recruit you to fly out and take my pics for me. More Kudos to Simon and Jakob!
babola
Actually, the lugs are the worst part of the case. I'll post some more photos. Thanks for the photos mate, a little fat but not as bad as on DSN autos...those are bordering on hilarious. I'd say all in all not a bad look, nice re-work on the CG, it appears the CG isn't cartel kind but standard DSN CG with centered lever. So this case is the one that comes on his latest PAM040 from Jan 2010? thanks, b
