Do triploc crowns "settle" over time?

The crown on my DSSD screws down exactly 1/2 turn more now, 1 year after it was new.

My question is .. is that normal gasket settling OR is there an issue with the gaskets that needs to be addressed. I do get this watch thoroughly wet multiple times a week. It's my beater.

I would assume the gasket inside the crown is becomming compressed. As long as the gaskets are kept lubed it should be water resistant. You should probably pull the crown off and have a look at the gaskets and replace them if necessary.

If you plan to swim/dive with your watch, it makes sense to have it water-pressure tested (at least) yearly. But, to the best of my knowledge, a proper service should include fresh gaskets, which, under normal usage, should remain usable until the next scheduled service (5-7 years).
