I have read pugwash's guide and still all my pics come out like blury crap. I have a 5mp point and shoot digital camera. Any suggestions please?!?!?

Yeah. Read them again. You're doing something wrong.

Four biggest factors to shoot good pics:

1. Get enough light

2. Get enough light

3. Don't use a flash

4. Get enough light

Daylight works surprisingly well. Have you tried it already?

Are you holding the camera in your hands while taking the pic? You may be moving the camera slightly while depressing the shsutter, causing blur.

Rest the camera on a pile of books or something and hold it steady when taking your photo. Maybe that will help.

Are you putting the camera into macro mode? There should be a button with a picture of a flower on the camera somewhere. That's for macro photography. Make sure it's enabled. Also, it is VERY difficult to get sharp macro photos when you're hand holding. You really want a tripod or at least something to rest the camera steady on.

Yeah, afterwards I thought maybe he wasn't using macro mode for closeups.

I personally have given up on macro, camera sometimes has a hard time focusing.

I like to shoot in auto mode, full frame, lots of space around the watch, then crop down nice and tight in iPhoto, so easy. Results are excellent.

also if you have a camera with "optical zoom" and don't use the digital zoom,if you don't have optical zoom on your camera, you can get a "close-up lens kit" on ebay or your local camera shop , Hope this helps, and yes the tripod helps BIG TIME! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Show us some pics and we'll be better equipped to help. :D

There are several possible causes, most of which have been mentioned. However, no-one's mentioned that the auto-focus may not be on centre-mode. You need the AF to focus on the watch and not the surroundings, so check out your camera's manual on how to make sure this is the case.
