Pete Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I tried to put this in the knowledgebase area but it wouldn't allow me to. Feel free to move this somewhere more appropriate. I came across this site today, this guy has made his own watch and shows all the steps including cutting his own gears, he did borrow a balance wheel but the rest is his, I'm amazed.............. Hand made watch Don't suppose anyone knows him ? Pete
gran Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Great input If only he replica factories could employ someone like this we would never see Shiterand ever again
gioarmani Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Don't know him, but read that article months ago--fascinating. The amount of $$$ that guy's got in his shop tied up in machinery is astounding.
kasigi Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Seen that before, spent a long time reading it. It's quite an incredible project. I don't like the design of the watch though, I really think it looks awful!
Linder Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 He posts frequently on TimeZone and plans to continue making 1 of 1 series watches. His wife will get the next one.

Not really. http://cgi.ebay.com/Taig-4-Axis-CNC-Millin...1QQcmdZViewItem Add another $500 in tooling and about the same for a Taig or shurline lathe and you could do what he does and much more. IF you had the skills. His skills and knowledge of engineering are astounding!! Someday I'm gonna get one of those little buggers! It's a friggin' 4 axis also. If you know what one can do, well, you know what one can do Edited September 23, 2006 by oswald
