Justasgood
I picked this up with my watchmaker as a project. As you can see, it has taken a beating in it's time. When I got the watch, the small chronograph hands were off and floatin around inside. The sapphire crystal was scratched and the crown was destroyed. Timekeeping was a whopping +1.5 hours/day. Here are the features: Internal GMT ring adjusted by the screw down crown at 10 o'clock. Automatic Valjoux 7750 with screw down pushers. Sapphire crystal znd screw down crown./ Bracelet/strap held in place by screws(Panny style). Rated to 200m What I have done: Replaced the 1.2mm sapphire crystal with a beefy 2.0mm sapphire crystal. Replaced the original Screw down crown and Tube with an unmarked screwdown crown and tube(Slightly larger diameter) Balance was removed, cleaned and pivots oiled. Hands were replaced and centered. Watch has passed the 200m test. The only issue is that the hour totalizer(sub dial at 6) doesn't advance. The chrono works perfectly other than that and the timekeeping is +4secs/day. I think I will sell it as is for I have no budget to fix the 12 hour counter. What say you? Thanks for looking, Kurt.
redwatch
Nice little project K! Who needs to count for 12 hours anyways? What would the age be of this watch? As for whether or not to keep it, I guess it depends on if you like first of all? If it was just a fun little project, then let it go and move on to the next project

Tengai650
I just joined and spotted this thread. Nice job. Who is the supplier for the crown and crystal? I can't quite tell from the photos, but is the replacement crystal domed? Also, how did you remove the old crystal without damaging the inner bezel? These old Wenger GST mechanicals are well-known for having crown failures, and Wenger NA is hard to deal with concerning the crown issue. Thanks! krpster
Not a bad looking piece. A little more love and she will be good as new. I say keep it and pick away at it over time. However, if you are bored with it and don't want to take it any further it may be time to move to the next.
Justasgood
I gave this watch to a friend. I fixed the 12 hour totalizer and changed the hands to Panerai style. It now resides on a Black croc strap with white stitching.
