Robaer Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Hi. I've noticed that many GMT Ceramic come with misaligned bezels. The triangle is a few millimeters to far to the left or right. Is it difficult to remove it and insert it again? Has anyone tried it? Thanks.
jmb Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 You maybe could just gently heat it up with a hair-dryer until the glue softens and use your fingers to "rotate" the insert where it goes while the glue is soft...

sneed12 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 With ceramic inserts, I try not to bend them at all. When I re-do ceramic inserts I uncase the movement, remove the crystal and gasket, then slip a razor blade under the bezel insert from the side. Ceramic can crack if bent.

sneed12 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Have you done this on a GMT? About a dozen times. I have a GMT IIc that I've been tinkering with for a year. Mix and match of the best bezel insert, case+rehaut engraving, movement, bracelet etc. I took the bezel insert out to align it, then again to paint it, then again when I decided to use a different color paint...
