offshore Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Guys, A client of mine, has just given me an 18K solid gold bezel (Fluted ala DJ D/D) which he has asked me to sell for him. It has a scrap value of over A$200- A$250, and he is saying he paid around $1k for it?? Its in brand new condition, measures 35.15 OD and 30.5 ID. He would like to think he would get 1/2 his money back. ($500) Is this realistic? What do these things sell for? It doesn't have any stamping, so I would think it was aftermarket. I turn myself over to the experts on these things. Offshore
freddy333 Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 I do not recall seeing any stampings on those & the last 1 I purchased (3 years ago) cost $200. So I would guess its current value is at or just above its gold scrap value. In fact, just a couple days ago, I saw a gen DJ 16014 case, dial, crystal & white gold bezel in clean condition on ebay with a price of $700 or offer.
ubiquitous Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 There's several listed on eBay between $112 (fluted, WG mens, or some of the ladies' models) - $700-ish (lots in the $400 - $500 range). At these prices, they're not moving at all.
