Cardshark00 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Major difference ? What do you prefer ? Picking up a new ceramic GMT Thursday, which one should I get ?
Cardshark00 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Why is the 3186 always more ? Because its the "clone" movt ? I can only imagine that would be a plus if you were trying to scam somebody.
jmb Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 the 3186 really isn't a clone, just has some additional "decorations" which often cause reliability to suffer - it probably wouldn't fool very many people...
hooky Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 And besides, it is a close case back. If not I would consider it.
Jkay Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 The chinese 3186 movement is not a clone. It has a couple of parts loosely screwed onto the movements plate to roughly look like a Rolex part. these extra pieces come loose and jam up in to the moving parts. Always avoid these.

Unfortunately not screwd, it would be fixable. Glued. Get te plain eta copy.
jmb Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 The rotor screw has a cover stuck over it while the faux bridge piece is attached with one (often loose) screw.
