Quarz watch broken?

Hey guys,

I'm sitting over a little problem here.

The watch is a KHS Navigator MK II which i used to wear in my time in the armed forces. Anyway, since bought in 2007 the battery died. So i got a new 371 battery, placed it in the movement(RONDA 515) but nothing happens

Am i missing something or is the movement broken?

Thanks

i checked the datasheep of the Ronda 515 on the internet, the battery seems to be correct. Also regarding google images of the movement, the battery is correct installed.

the watch was sitting around a long time, but i can't see any signs of corrosion.

just tried two brandnew 371 batterys, no reaction :(

looks like something's wrong with the movement

Peter,

You need to get the movement onto a pulse tester, to see if you have an operational circuit.

Often the electrical side will be fine, however the mechanical side has been jammed by built up verdigris.

A line freeing machine (demagnetiser) can be useful in these situations.

If you do not have a circuit, it is possible to repair the electrics, however, as has been pointed out, with the price of a changeover movement somewhere around the $10 - $15 mark, it is hardly worth the effort.

Hope this helps.
