supermanx Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 I picked this up from a member here, switched out the bezel, and its got the nickle movement. Pros: Excellent date mag, VERY deep rehault, nice crown, very nice crown guards. Cons: Bad pearl, laser etched crown, date cyclops covers tick marks.
gioarmani Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 The rehaut looks awesome in the pics & that bezel pearl is leaps and bounds above Josh's factory stock. Much better.

When i took the bezel insert off and cleaned then reglued with gs cement is set the insert a little too far into the bezel makeing the rehault look deeper... but also created a small lip on the bezel. Got another insert on the way.
gioarmani Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 I like the recessed insert--I could be wrong, but I thought my 96 gen sub was like that...
watcher Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 The insert should be recessed!!! Do not change that as it looks perfect. My gen SD has the very same leading edge as your bezel.
ubiquitous Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 supermanx- You definitely want slightly recessed; just enough to see the inner edge of the bezel rim. watcher- I believe the insert on a 16600 (like yours) may actually sit a slight bit more recessed due to the bezel height...
watcher Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 I'm struggling to get a good photo as my camera is knackered so relying on my phone but the recess on my 16600 looks pretty similar to the picture you showed Ubi. THe insert is smaller on an SD because the bezel edge is thicker compared to a Sub but the recess is about the same. When I get me camera back I will take some reference shots showing the Shallow rehaut and higher crown postion in the guards etc.
