@Noel, thanks for the suggestion. However, I think this version do have some fault. The GMT hand should be completely red and the second hand should have the tip in red. However it does have a good bezel and date window.

@Libby, I decided to go franken. You have a very nice piece there. Completely agree that it is a great piece. Can you let me know what mod you have done. Thanks alot.

Started out as an ETA based rep from a dealer when they all had decent reps of this model. Authentic dial and hands (biggest flaw of these, hands too short) and datewheel were added. Movement may have been swapped for one that can handle the correct handstack (2836?). Not sure about the glass, might be authentic, or the bezel. Authentic padded signed strap and deployant clasp finishes it off nicely.

The GMT is a great model to franken, authentic dials and hands fit easily into the rep case, no need to worry about HE valves or correct caseback engravings that were flaws on SMP's and Bonds from the same era..

Only thing it needs is to have the crown shaved down a little to sit lower between the crown guards as on the original, but it's been a great watch over the years!

hi Libby. Good to hear GMT is a great model to franken. did you do the mod yourself? I am getting an asian movement model which has the correct bezel but the dial is missing the white date window. I will get the gen Dial and full sets of hands. Do you know what movement is in yours? is it still a faux GMT movement? Sorry for so many questions. But you definitely have a beauty!
