Timeband Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Hi members, I bought an old handbag that was made in about 1950. It was made from a very small croc, so therewere only horns for one strap. Here are some pics Greetz Uwe
maxman Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I love these, some of the best looking straps around as far as Im concerned, love those horns. Nice job Timeband. Mike

Timeband Posted April 16, 2011 Author Report Posted April 16, 2011 Bag? Why buy a bag? We got gators walking around down here in the Everglades all over the place. In germany we have just rabbits running around, bad straps I guess I will let you know Mike, the problem in germany is the CITE for protected animals. Very hard to get croc skins. Greetz Uwe
maxman Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 @Timeband,I forgot about Germany's strict customs, thanks for sharing your hornback, she's a beaut. Mike
Timeband Posted April 17, 2011 Author Report Posted April 17, 2011 Thank you Whoever Thank you Mike, yes, if that problem wouldn't be in germany, I guess a lot of great straps came out in the forums. Greetz Uwe
sinatra1166 Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Hello Uwe, again a wonderful strap! Is it in 24 or 26? Best Robert

highoeyazmuhudee Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 very interesting, i like the idea of repurposing stuff once its time has come.
Timeband Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 Thank you guys, nice to read these positive replies. It is 26 x 26 Robert Nice Combo O. Makes the strap looking much better than I have it in memory
rafi717 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I will let you know Mike, the problem in germany is the CITE for protected animals. Very hard to get croc skins. Greetz Uwe Indeed such a shame. I guess God has made them specifically for watch straps. Maybe a day will come when a giant croc will come around and show you off on his watch forum... And all the others will go "wow! What did you make this is one out of? A german? Those are really scarce these days... Hard to find... Damn those human right activists."
Timeband Posted May 4, 2011 Author Report Posted May 4, 2011 You are right rafi, but sometimes you are lucky and get some of this great skin. This handbag came from the netherlands. Easterdays were very lucky days for me, I received a 6m long snakeskin from a real big snake, called Anaconda There are a lot of straps in it
rafi717 Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 @Timeband "Only when the last tree has withered the last fish has been caught and the last river's been poisoned will men realize we cannot eat money." I pity people like you.
Timeband Posted May 4, 2011 Author Report Posted May 4, 2011 Thank you for your pity, enjoy your rubber straps.
