ubiquitous
It's MUCH nicer than the first few prototypes... But maybe a little too glossy? Throw 1 coat of matte over the top to balance it out a bit, and I think you're set!

oswald
Thanks guys. I just put a coat of clear satin on it. When fooling around with this one I heated it in a small oven at 175 deg between coats of clear. I noticed that if I didn't let the part cool down between coats then cracks ran all over the surface. Some of you guys fooling with vintage stuff may find this useful. I'll bet you could heat up a Vintage Rolex dial, shoot it with some clear and get some cool effects if you wanted to risk it. The only thing about a Rolex dial is that if you screwed it up you couldn't fix it.
madasboot
Oswald@ Your talents are superb... I wish I had the balls to try it on mine. I am a good cook but I would not risk to roast a dial! The numerals are looking amazing now. Meanwhile give Ubi's suggestion a try... I think a matte coat will "cut" the glow on the dial surface. Cheers, Marco
oswald
I have to be careful because my oven gets pretty hot: It goes to 2000 degrees!
