026k heart transplant

Dear folks:

After study many posts here, I'm preparing to transplant a new st36 hi-beat movement into my 026k

Is there anything I need to be concern? Are the hand sets are fragile? Still remember sead1999 said that the hand sets are very easy to broken, any experience could share?

Once I get the st36, is it a direct easy swap? Anytime need to be modded?

From the information provided by members, there're 2 places I can get the st36:

1.) http://www.helenarou.com/index.html

2.) http://www.siswatch727.com/index.do

Their prices are almost the same, are they both located in HK? Helenarou also provide a normal st36 & st36 with swan neck regulator, which one I should go? Which dealers are most recommended?

Are they both provided the full serviced & H3 cannon pin installed movement?

Best regards,

Raymond

I think you will get the same movement from either one of those two dealer.

Removing the hands without damage is the most difficult part in swapping the movements. You need the right tools to do this. putting them back on is not that hard. There are a couple of tutorials about this you can search for.

Good luck.

Yeah, I'll not swap it by myself but my faithful watch smith will do the transplant.

But I want to know whether the hands are such fragile as they said before. I heard they won't put it back once you remove them. Is it necessary to got another hand-sets before we do the transplant?

Best regards,

Raymond
