mbjoer
Wouldnt that be partly needed anyhow? (considering that the time of day might differ +\- 1 hour between summer and winter) It looks to me like there is a pusher on one of the crowns which is not on the old version. That might be to jump the timezone or the time. However the position of the city-wheel suggest that it does not click into place. That is a problem on the old version, which tends to slide. As to other improvements there is now a serial no, which on the old version was 000.000. Also I guess that this one is made of real titanium, whereas the old version was some kind of greyed steel. Finally the old version could not be made water-proof. Hopefully that has been fixed as this is one watch that should be able to swim. chefcook
With the gen worldtimer you choose the time zone by turning the crown at 2. When you push the button in the crown at two the hour hand will jump to the appropriate time in the time zone you dialed in. So image you started your business trip in London and are on your way to Los Angeles. Turn the crown at two until you find LAX, it will show 8 hours time difference in the little readout at 9. Push the button at two and the hour hand will jump 8 hours back and the watch shows the time in Los Angeles. Turn the crown at two to LON again to see what time it is at home... IMO this is the coolest GMT setup of all times. Unfortunately the function is not replicated in this watch according to Josh (sent him an email about that...). Watchmeister
It is a very pretty watch. Chef - thanks for the info on the functionality. I am going to have to check one out next time I stop by an AD. Unfortunately I don't have the car to go with it either. What I have always found interesting is that in the rep world people are quick to buy specific car brand watches - Breitling Bentley line, PanerI Ferarri, etc. But in the real world of major metropolis' and vacation destinations in the U.S. And Carribean I never see any of them. So I am thinking it heavily car oriented watches must be an Asian or Middle East phenomenon.

They specialise in design of luxury life style items like running shoes, pens, leather goods and watches. The watchdesign has been going for a long time. They even made a range for IWC:
chefcook
Porsche Design actually is not as car related as one might think. The designer who founded Porsche Design came from the Porsche family but the business itself is complete separated from the car manufacturer Porsche. At least here in Germany Porsche Design is mostly famous for their sunglasses followed by bags and leather goods, then the watches. You can see them quite a lot here, I know a lot of guys running around with a Porsche Design watch without ever having driven a Porsche. It's just another watch from a cool brand and in terms of price, quality and typical customer comparable to any Breitling, Omega and Panerai. The big difference is: Porsche Design = Cool designer stuff / Porsche Driver's Selection = Car merchandise EDITh says that mbjoer was quicker with the same intention Edited June 5, 2011 by chefcook
andreww
He shape of the lugs where they join to the case is completely wrong, but the watch itself is pretty sweet! Thats one of the problems with company issued photos. As you detected, the lug appears to meet the case at a hard angle whilst the rep is rounded. Also the rep appears to have a ridge running running between the lugs that is absent on the gen image. All signs point to a so-so rep until you see a non-promotional image... Samurai
As I understand, a dealer used his gen in getting this made and the gen is still lying around in pieces.
