Nanuq
On my mtn bike ride today I ran across a Bullwinkle with a massive scar on his flank. It looks like a bear got a piece of him and it healed. Was it Browning that described "Nature, red in tooth and claw"? I gave this tough guy a wide passing.

Nanuq
Oh yeah, no doubt. I took this from about 50' being very calm so he didn't feel threatened. Watch the ears, as soon as they go back and he turns toward you, watch out.
Jkay
A few years back, I was on vacation in New Hampshire, and driving down the road when a baby moose (as big as a small car) and the mama moose (bigger than my car) jumped out of the brush and started running down the road next to me, keeping pace next to my side window. What a rush that was. From your photo, I bet people here have NO IDEA how big a moose is. I bet they are imagining a large deer. Not even close. Try 6x bigger than that. Nanuq
Oh yeah that one in my photo is puny. Here's a couple big ones. The one stepping onto the road has stirred a lot of controversy but if that's a single lane road, yeah I can believe it.
