Librarian
How easy is it to transplant a swiss eta into a Pam 048. It's a high beat MBK but I think I'm about to head down a franken route ... I've used the search function but had no luck with 40mm pams.
FxrAndy
What movement is in it now?

rosnik
Get a SWISS 7750 like GEN. It's easy to directly swap .
FxrAndy
Don't forget the new 28800 asains have different sundial and center seconds hands
Librarian
I was assuming that I'd have to get new hands anyway. Are a7750's hands interchangable with swiss movements. I presumed not. I'm not sure I fully understand you ('cos I'm a total noob here) but the 048 has seconds at 9 o'clock on a subdial. Is that the sundial you refer to? The seconds hand at 9 of your A7750 will not fit the Swiss movement without modding. Also you need to find a way to close the hole for the center seconds dial. see here: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/121577-how-to-make-a-better-cannon-pinion-for-a-panerai-7750-movement/page__p__875518__hl__sander__fromsearch__1#entry875518 and here: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/132076-franken-pam-120/page__p__969220__hl__%2Bcannon+%2Bpinion__fromsearch__1#entry969220
Mickey Padge
I went the Swiss route a few times with some projects in the past, but soon realised that you may as well just service the A7750, much better value and will run for years and years if done properly
Librarian
Thanks everyone for your answers. I reckon for once I'll learn from other people's experiences and not bother with the eta route. I don't have the skills or the time for that amount of work - maybe in 20 years when the kids have moved out ...
