Just noticed this in a regular email I receive.

What do you guys think? Can a feature be copied to such a degree and not infringe trademark laws?

So this guy created a trademark on a type of replica watch? Wonder how well that's going to hold up in court...

Cmon, it is a "Original Sea God Design". And a "Superlative" one at that. Those are pretty tough to find.

(although this might make for a bi*ching gift for the ladyfriends)

The crownguard is actually patented and Panerai has in the past pursued violators. I have no idea whether that patent is still relevant when there is no locking mechanism (i.e. lever) .... :bangin:

I heard someone did something quiet similar and made an RWG watch back in 2005 (Homage to the Railmaster) ;) but alas the effort eventually failed
