mbjoer
How likely is it that a new acquisition has a dead battery? Symptoms: The watch did work for a little while, but then it got tempermantal and now it has stopped. Should I just change the battery or is it likely that there is an underlying problem? offshore
If you have a pulse tester or can access one, this will tell you if its the battery or the circuit at issue, and can be checked without having to remove the back. O/S
flash515
There is a HUGE variance in the quality of watch batteries. Locally the dollar store sell really cheap batteries that go flat really quick and I would guess the reps come with something like this stock. Look for a good name brand but there is a big difference in price the Chinese cheapies are 4 for a dollar and a premium is about $8.00 ea
mbjoer
Asked the dealer if it would have been sent with an old battery. This was the answer: Quote dear friend of course no the new watch ,goes with the new battery but the battery lifetime depends on how you use the watch ,my friend unquote Should I only look at it with one eye?? Will go and have the battery checked - hopefully today. Edited July 13, 2011 by mbjoer
sempire
Just spend a few bucks, buy a new battery and see if that's the case. It's the first step that really should be taken.

The X-33's I owned were 'new watches', but still needed the batteries replacing immediately
