dcrooz
Did any UK based guys watch Eastenders this evening...? Jake Moon was wearing a Pam! They panned in close to his wrist when he was waiting for the phone to ring. It looked like a 40mm Luminor Automatic at a glance but I could be (and probably am) wrong! For those who've never heard of Eastenders it is a high-brow super intellectual thriller of a series with more twists, turns and tangents than Lost... docblackrock
My GF shouted over (we live open-plan) to me whilst I was slaving away in the kitchen "hey, he's wearing one of your watches!'. The first and only time I have ever shown an interest in the programme, soaps are just one of those female things I just don't get i.e. dcrooz must be a girl BTW, from a distance it looked like a PAM 088 GMT
jonthebhoy
The only "Moon" I ever cared for is dead and he was the greatest rock drummer in the world with the greatest rock band in the world. Sorry if I've offended any soap fans. JTB

jonthebhoy
whoa boy! another drug reference. first mandrex now rock. yes i am proud of the very little rock expression. but hey, Neil peart is a very fine drummer, perhaps the best. Listen to the whole Fly By night album, if you are not biased, you will agree. thom

Listen to "Different Stages" live album if you want perfection. PS: Impossible to compare Moon and Peart. Both were great. Moon was crazy and Peart is a technical drummer. A few cool Peart solos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TK86bOxrQg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH_mDJjK4UI

By-Tor
Yeah... lots of older fans seem to think that way. However the younger guys like me seem to appreciate the "Permanent Waves between Presto" era the most. Some say the keyboards were overused in that period but I say it's bull*hit. Subdivisions, Marathon, Prime Mover, Red Tide, Turn The Page, Analog Kid, Natural Science, etc. etc. those songs are INSANE... and light years better than they ever produced in their early days. It doesn't mean I don't like 2112 or Fly By Night... they're both classics, but they're too simplistic and not enough progressive and ambitious in my view. The 80's era may sound more mainstream at first, but those albums have lots of depth and growth potential. Give them a good listen... Presto especially, which is often overlooked by the "old school" guys. For me "Presto" ended their artistic peak, which started from Permanent Waves. Counterparts was a good album, but generally I don't like their newest stuff that much. In my view "Different Stages" gives the best presentation of their entire career. Spirit of Radio is still probably my fav. song live Works in front of 20.000 people: ... or in front of 500.000 people: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIClgfjMBys

My wife is a girl, as is my baby girl, but I (despite the occasional foray into Albert Square) am definitely male!

Don't worry about id'ing the model though as the episode will be repeated on Sunday, and shown on the hour every hour on BBCs 3 and 4...
