irolexu
Just curious to know how exactly a GMT hand is supposed to work. I thought it also keeps up with the hour? yet the one on my explorer II seems to be tracking behind the hour hand at a lot slower pace then the regular hour hand? can someone clear this up? Ronin
A 24 hour hand generally tracks 1/2 as fast as the regular hour hand.
freddy333
Remember that a complete 360 degree cycle for the GMT hand = 24 hours, while a 360 degree cycle for the hour hand = 12 hours. So, in a 24-hour period, the hour hand makes 2 complete cycles of the dial, while the GMT hand makes only 1. This video demonstrates the action of GMT & hour hands (the hour hand is the shorter hand)
Jkay
It goes around once a day, not twice a day like the hour hand.
