What Is So Special About The 28th?

While checking out the latest watch mag, I noticed that watch photos with a date function seemed to be set for the 28th far more than one would think by chance. I remember reading somewhere that for watch photos, ten after ten is typical because it looks kind of looks like a smile, but why the 28th for the date?

Probably because it's the widest day of the month.

Digital watches were set to 10:08 for this reason, which is also the smile time on analogue watches.
