PostModernPrimate Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Does anyone know of a quality rep for the new ceramic bezel "liquid metal" planet ocean?
Jkay Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 The trouble is due to the extremely high-tech nature of "liquid metal" ... it's only made in one factory by one company, I believe. I dont know if the bezel could be made in it's proper form without this technology. You could certainly make the watch and use a normal bezel on it ... but that would never survive inspection by anyone.
HPoirot Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 i've always wondered, since we can buy the gen bezel insert for the PO, doesn't it also mean we can buy the gen LM PO insert and transplant onto a normal PO?
wiesn089 Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Since it's a recently released special edition these are exchange only parts, so no chance unfortunately.
Noel Fleischer Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 God knows what the gen price would be. The watch is alot more than the plain ole PO.
HauteHippie Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 I see it for sale for about $6k. Wow. A $6k cal. 2500 co-axial escapement. Seems ridiculous. The liquid metal bezel thing is seriously cool though. Seems like rep makers could achieve the same look far more easily and on the cheap. . . .
PostModernPrimate Posted October 12, 2011 Author Report Posted October 12, 2011 That's sort of what I was thinking. I doesn't have to actually be the same materials. I'm sure there are other materials that could be used to get the look of the LM PO.
the_rymeister Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Wow just had a look on omega website and that is a seriously sweet bezel.
blue_sphere Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 wow awesome. I would buy a rep of this instantly
jeffw69 Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Okay, I've been pretty patient. I hope we can see this soon.
maxman Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I think the factories could achieve a very similar look by using ceramic...the DSSD bezel for example. With a few tweeks here and there... It might be a pretty sweet rep. The gen LM Is quite awesome..I have to admit.. Mike. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZcsWVqLC5I
jeffw69 Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 It really is one watch right now that I would consider the gen. Omega boutique is about an hour from me-too bad they don't give any discounts.

I would wait for a used one to pop up...but that will probably be over priced as well. Mike
jeffw69 Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 That's my problem.....waiting Yes, I agree def. overpriced. But so sweet!
correctime Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 They do look great. Personally, I'd like to see them drop the date on the non-chronograph from 3 to 6 position too. That is oh so much more "user friendly".

blue_sphere Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 The chrono is so classy. The gen beats at 28800 bph too! The non chrono still beats at 25500 eww. I LOVE this watch though!
