alifizan
Just was wondering what movement is this guys http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc420/faizan1979/utf-8BU0FNXzA0NTUuSlBH.jpg http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc420/faizan1979/utf-8BU0FNXzA0NTYtMi5KUEc.jpg
modelizer
Looks like a ETA clone to me. But more close up pics would help.
alifizan
It says on there 25 jewel Swiss,I was told this is a 2836 Asian movement
modelizer
The Asian clones also say 25 jewel Swiss - but it's not more Swiss than the dial, crown and case is gen Rolex..
alifizan
So all in all would you say this movement is any good
alifizan
Also your saying the case in those pictures is genuine?
modelizer
Asian clones are good movements IMHO. No, the case in the pics is not gen. What I meant is that the movement is not more Swiss than the case is gen. Sorry about the confusion..
cjjoyce1
Asian clone 2836-2. You can see the 2836-2 stamped on the bridge under the balance wheel in the first pic if you look with a magnifying glass or expand the pic.
highoeyazmuhudee
any asian clone ive ever had has crapped out within months, you should see my parts bin, its full of these.
alifizan
So if this movement craps out what could I replace it work, would I be able to just put in another movement?
modelizer
If it craps out you can either have it serviced, swapped out for a new Asian clone or slap a Swiss ETA right in there.
preacher62
It looks Swiss to me. 8 holes in the reversers and 3 relief slots for the balance shock spring. The Asian clones do not usually have but one relief slot.

cjjoyce1
that logic is long dead, check out ANGUS PTs site Yup was going to point that out, in addition to the fact that these days if everything is brand new, it's Asian. If it looks rebuilt, has screws that are damaged, or has weird parts together its Swiss. There was a thread on RWI by RSH about discovering a difference in construction of the stem.
