Rolex 7205 Question

Akira

Recommended Posts

Hello mates,

I've purchased this 7205 and have some questions you might be able to answer.

The bracelet has a lot of stretch and is pretty danged up....I love it :)

The rivet is stamped 7205 which indicates it was issued somewhat in the 60's

The clasp isn't correct for a 7205 and is stamped "D" which indicates 1979 issue.

What clasp is it? It's 13mm wide while the DW 78350 claps is 15mm.

One pin is not SS, where can I get this replacement pin?

The endlinks are marked "60" which don't fit my DW V1 6263 but according to some websites

it should fit the 6239.

My question is, where can I find fitting endlinks for a reasonable price. I don't care if aftermarket, they just have

to fit the bracelet and my 6263.

Moreover has anyone a 7205 clasp he would like to sell to me? :)

Your help is much appreciated

Cheers

Akira

..ooops..I missread your post

I see the issue. My 7205 has the clasp with the coronet on the end like your second picture.

I do have a 19mm folded that has the first clasp.. like yours. As for endlinks, they are rare as hens teeth.

As you have probably noticed, the old bracelets use is different type of endlink that's permanent.

There's the endlink, a midpiece, and the springbar. There is also a center piece that wraps around the whole mess holding it to the main bracelet.

Both of my vintage 19mm bracelets have this system and each came with a broken midpiece. I have the new parts now and I will let my jeweler put it together.

One of my bracelets has one aftermarket endlink..so they exist..but I have no idea where you'd find them let alone the correct daytona partfdb5ed3a.jpg

esslinger.com in the US also has rivets and pins at pretty decent prices. I was able to source the ones for the clasp and the mid section rivets. Not pretty, but better than black iron. Good looking bracelet there Akira.

Wear as is, once you fix the issues so that it is safe, and look for a decent clasp later. The endlinks are going to be a [censored] to source. At least cheap that is. You can always try to "reshape" some aftermarket 80s to see if that works.

This one should fit if I buy the right mm size right?

I like the bracelet as it is....I mean it's gen nonetheless.

Wow! I've been looking for these! One of my SSD clasps is kaputt because one of these is broken. I did not even know how they're called.

Thanks for the link! Do you know if there's a source in Europe?

Val.
