RWG Technical Posted December 2, 2011 Author Report Posted December 2, 2011 Our brother has spoken! Well don't see you post very often, great to see you around...
maxman Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Beautiful work Zigmeister...this will make many of are members very happy....as it should. Mike
Watchmeister Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Good stuff. For those wanting to make an early or Pre-V Pam it is a great opportunity. I have certainly availed myself of that opportunity. I would also second the fact that my original PVD watches from a few years ago are already showing the change in color which is what happens with PVD.
maxman Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Can't take any credit for this one, all I do is supply the cases and parts (and goat feed, if you read the whole post... ). Hopefully it will be of value to the members, on my end it is a lot of work, but I know the demand is there, for any vintage piece this is the only choice... Maybe I should have said..."beautiful work offered"...and Indeed it is. I've never seen better. Mike
PeteM Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 A fantastic opportunity for guys that want thier PAMs to have the best and closest look OEM PVD ... Zig did my PreV 202a recently and guys I cannot state enough just how close this was to gen.... I have had all of the known PVD suppliers watches in my hand and this coating was without doubt the best coating I have ever had on any of my PAMs.... Add to that the quality of service from Zig and the attention to detail .... this is the best PVD option to any one wanting to mod or refinish thier PAM case IMHO... and great value I was fortunate enough to hold a gen 202a in my hand so I can say that from an objective point of view not just subjective... An awesome opportunity.... wish I had something to PVD I would say however that everyone interested should understand the specific PVD finish on the gen that they want to replicate as PVD tones and colours did vary slightly due to OP using a couple of different suppliers for different series models... generally however the finish was pencil gray and here is the opportunity to own a little bit more of a genlike PAM....
bwhitesox Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Or lack of style in this case..I have yet to get one of my watches coated by Zig but they look amazing. Might have to get some parts together for one.
babola Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Or lack of style in this case... Yup, my comment was more of a tongue-in-cheek I've had one of Zig's PVDed cases for few years now, the slightly worn-off patina-ed look that developed by wear an tear is something only an owner of the watch can really 'feel' first hand. That's all that should matter anyway, the way it's been done and exact surface treatment method should be pretty much irrelevant.
vlydog Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Looks like some members are going to have a stroke or heart attack over PVD, really feel sorry for them. Pulmonary Valve Disintegration
blue_sphere Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) lol nice vly! Edit: Zig beautiful job. I hope your e-mail hasn't changed I am eagerly awaiting your reply! Edited December 3, 2011 by blue_sphere 1
HauteHippie Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Great stuff, Zig... Wow, that stealth 212 is absolutely to die for. And look at the patina on the 28A ! ! ! Mmmmm!!!
coolfire Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 That 212 is definitely killer! I concur!
dluddy Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Thread cleaned up and thread crap removed
Star69 Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Thread cleaned up and thread crap removed is this a sales thread - or is thread crapping in general not allowed ?
dluddy Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 is this a sales thread - or is thread crapping in general not allowed ? Constructive comments in sales threads are encouraged. This is not a Sales thread as much as an offering notice but quite frankly, I wouldn't have tolerated the negative turn this one took in any thread....let's just say the negative discussion ran it's course
blue_sphere Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Sounds good Duddly. Guys I just want to emphasize... this is FAR AND ABOVE the standard "pvd" that a rep factory does. You simply CAN NOT COMPARE the two.
