Patek 5230P

Just spotted this one from Watchedehn:

http://www.rwg.cc/topic/142860-patek-philippe-swiss-eta-2836-movement-with-black-dial-leather-strap-308-shipped/page__fromsearch__1

From the pics it looks like a pretty good version of the Patek 5130 Platinum.

I cannot tell if/how the world-timer works, and the dial looks black instead of blue.

But first impression: Interesting!!

Its the best looking watch Ive ever seen from Watchedehn :)

But descrptions like "The glass-face composed of mineral sapphire crystal-resistant to scratches" and evrn tough the movement is a great one its a far cry from the real deal

Yeah, I'm not sure why they're using mineral crystal on a watch at this price range. It could very well be that it actually comes with sapphire, but Watcheden and Timesshops' descriptions aren't the most reliable.

How very true. More information is required about this one.

And I do agree that one should not look for similarities when turning the watch over.

Hope someone will jump to get one and provide us with a review.

That rep actually looks quite good. It's just too bad they went with a black dial instead of blue.

As for the specifications, the movement shown is definitely not an ETA 2836. It's a Sellita.

This is the movement we need in this replica

or improved version of the Ronda 2538 budget microrotor from the late 1980s.

In early 2011, Sea-Gull presented a prototype microrotor watch of a thinness unprecedented in Chinese automatics. Production is scheduled commence towards the end of the year, however there have been reported delays while Sea-Gull fine-tunes the design for optimum winding efficiency.

Another microrotor of presumed Chinese origin is known to exist. It features a central second hand and date mechanism so is less thin than the Sea-Gull. The manufacturer is unknown but the movement has been in production since 2004 or earlier. It is extrememly rare and of unknown quality.
