asf Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Ha! Actually, i had spotted these on the Bay the other night. they do look quite good, but not in the same ballpark as a SF Sub dial IMHO! asimplefarmer & woof - Yep, those casebacks do look really stunning as well! Does Jmb do this himself? Thanks Yeah. He engraves it then vintagizes the case back
prospex44 Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 Yeah. He engraves it then vintagizes the case back Thanks for the info and the pic, looks like a really worthwhile addition to my Tudor build! Much appreciated mate!
modelizer Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks for the info and the pic, looks like a really worthwhile addition to my Tudor build! Much appreciated mate! Yes, jmb's case back engraving is a must IMHO.. Here's one he did for me: That man is a true magician..
highoeyazmuhudee Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Yes, jmb's case back engraving is a must IMHO.. Here's one he did for me: That man is a true magician.. that looks damn good! the gen caseback has a ridge around the threading tho right? jmb thats really impressive
modelizer Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 the gen caseback has a ridge around the threading tho right? I think all the various snowflake models has the ridge around the threading just like you say. But for the earlier Tudor rose sub (7928) this case back (that used to be yours ) is correct.
woof* Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Jmb has engraved all of my Tudors this way.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I think all the various snowflake models has the ridge around the threading just like you say. But for the earlier Tudor rose sub (7298) this case back (that used to be yours ) is correct. came out really nice, congrats
jmb Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 sgtguk - I played with one of these sterile cases a bit today. Like I said, no gen bezel construction (uses wire clip) but not really that big a deal - just makes fitting a different crystal a bit harder. The case came with a cyclope crystal with the magnifier in the "Tudor position" so I popped it out and found a T21 drops right into the slot so I will likely glue that in there and assemble it with a 7928 dial and see what it looks like.
sgtguk Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Sounds good jmb, could you post some pics when you've done it? Having another look at it now, pardon my noobness but is a T21 crystal without cyclops? & a 7928 dial?
jmb Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Uh, yeah? A no-date dial would look kinda funny with a magnifier!
sgtguk Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Very true lol now I know what a 7928 dial is ! Cheers Hey and that one (I assume is a 7928, just checking!) is real nice jmb
