just me or do the teeth on the bezel of the new planet oceans look more square?

i think the teeth on the bezel new planet ocean (at least the 45.5mm one) has more of a square shape vs what looks like a more rounded ^ like shape and personally the small differences seem to add up, probably gonna be ages before there are good reps of the new planet oceans though (well besides the see through case back, would be stupid to show off an asian/swiss eta when the movement on the gen is an 8500 co-axial, and besides nobody would see the back but you anyways).

http://forums.watchu...ean-582166.html for reference.

http://forums.watchu...500-601734.html - orange bezel version.

He valve and crown too seem to have the square shape teeth.

yea bezel edge is different, they have a totally new look-more aggressive and hard edged i think-i do like the orange, but im still a bigger fan of the original planet ocean-just looks smoother imo...im not that fussed on the new 300m either, black date wheel with blue dial?? like they cutting cost or had over stock of black date wheels-white with blue dial surely?! and no wavey dial motif?? the seamaster since 1994 has been iconic for its wavey dial! the movements are a work of art, but the aesthetics im really not sure about... and ive been omega all the way since 2002!

I really like the gray/black ceramic bezel one. You are right that it looks more aggressive though, generally not my cup of tea but I really like this one for some reason. No idea how the sharp edges feel like - would have to try it on at an AD. The 8500 though... yummm - now that's some nice movement porn :p

Agree, 8500 is something special and not that bad a price for inhouse... I do like the new po range but like I said-the original po just sings a merry song to me that I'm totally in tune with-the new versions sing slightly out of key to me! And the new 300m imo has too much emphasis on gloss and ceramic...

The bezel on the 8500 PO's are significantly different than the originals when you compare them side by side, and the more you compare them, I think you will realize as a whole they are very different. I recently was shopping for a gen PO and was ready to buy the new 8500, and just wanted to decide on the 42mm vs 45mm. I have an average 7" wrist, but quite flat, and found that both sizes looked good. The 8500 adds approx. 1mm, which doesn't seem like much on paper but on the wrist the 8500 felt entirely different than the 2500. The 8500 42mm is nearly the same height as the 2500 45mm, and relative to the 2500 42mm feels very top heavy even on the bracelet. Both the 42mm and 45mm 2500 just seemed to contour my wrist perfectly, very well balanced. I ended up buying a 42mm white on black 2500, and never looked back. For me, it's just the perfect size/weight and can be dressed up or down easily. I could see myself buying the orange 45m 8500 PO or POC on rubber in the future (or a rep if a nice one comes along), because I am still giddy over it and have a few large pieces I really enjoy (Chronomat Evo, Navi). But I was looking for a sport/dive watch I could wear on a bracelet comfortably for long hours at work (and fit easily under shirt cuffs), and the 42mm 2500 was perfect. I am interested to see how well the 8500 42mm sells...personally it is one of the most awkward wearing watches I have worn.
