In Need of Mediation (trusted dealer or bad business practice)

I don't want to trash anyone but I am a Noob and have been in contact with a very trusted dealer (based on this forum) for the last several days and need some help. In short after many emails discovering that the watches on the site were not available I decided on a watch. I was sent instructions on how to purchase through paypal and that through currency conversion it was more then was advertised on the site. After several emails showing the converstion rate I was told it gets rounded up to the next 5 of the foreigh currency. Should have been my first clue that this may not be the best dealer but it turned out only to be $3 USD. But in principal I was concerned. So I followed the complicated process (I understand the need) and paid for the watch. The site lists the whole QA process of photographing the watch and showing how the movement gets collaborated. I hear nothing for a day. I then ask the question where are the pics. I then am told that the watch came in with a finish that was a different shade and it was rejected by the dealer. I was asked to pick another watch which I did. I have not heard anything. I checked my bank account and it was debited for the amount of the watch. It is a expensive watch. So now I am in limbo. I am not sure why you would debit the account without having the actual watch. I am very concerned now!!!! I am not sure if this is a scam or just bad business practice. I would like to have someone mediate for me in private and if it is a scam expose it publicly after the proper investigation is done.

Please advise.

You've joined today, but you are in contact for several days?

However,

You choose a watch

You pay

You wait

You wait

You receive pictures

If they are ok - you approve

You wait

You get a tracking number

You wait

You wait

You wait

You receive the watch

Done!

I personally find the fifth waiting part the hardest. But that's just me.

To the OP: I agree that sparse communication is bad business practice but it's very common in the rep game. You will need a lot of patience. Not hearing for a day is actually no sign of a scam at all, it is normal. Good luck!

I am a relative noob myself so I know how you must be feeling :fool: as if the TD has just taken your money and you'll never see a watch.....not so!

Try to be a little patient with these guys, they trade this way because partly they have to and partly.....well your guess is as good as mine!

I can only tell you that in my limited experience over the last few months that you will get your watch and you will be glad you found here too! Do let us know how you go but give them a couple of days hey :)

As said above, you have to have some faith in the process. You need to remember that you are dealing with someone half way around the world. There is a time difference, language barriers ... etc. If you did your homework and picked a good dealer, your watch will arrive in due time.

Happy waiting!

Marty
