LeSentier
Frankens are hardly to purchase - they are between 3.000 and 5.000... Forget the daytona reps you can purchase from the dealers, they are not reliable regarding the movement. sec@6 movements are a ticking timebomb - do a research here and you will find all answers. You could purchase gen parts (dial, hands, xstal, bracelet) - this will cost you about 2.500 (Euros !), and then add a case from Phong (www.jewelryandwatch.com) for another 1.200 Euros, and if you have all the parts, you just need a watchmaker to assamble them (another x00 Euros...) I would say: If you are able to spend more then 3.000 euros and have plenty of time for searching the parts, go on and build your own. if not: RIP daytona Best, J
tomhorn
Search for posts from ubiquitous. He has built a pair of great franken Daytonas. They are expensive builds to do right, but beautiful watches. You can build the older 62xx Daytonas for a bit less as there are more aftermarket parts available and the Valjoux 72 is a little cheaper to find. Watchmeister
I can tell you a build 3 years ago would be $3-4k. Current estimate would be closer to $5k plus.
