chiman12 Posted March 12, 2012 Report Share Posted March 12, 2012 I believe that the stem height won't be an issue as I've tried fitting a V72 into a DW 7750 case once and it align perfectly. The chrono-levers on the 7750 movement are a lot wider than on the V72, so the pusher placement is not an issue. To be on the safe side, why don't you just use a 7750 case? Original Scope Posted March 13, 2012 Author Report Share Posted March 13, 2012 My original plan was to go with a V72 movement but between the price of the movement and service I was thinking a new 7753 would be a little cheaper and rock solid.It will be a little while until I get the movement so just exploring options.Next on my list is gen spring bars and crown and tube.Thanks again Chiman. I bought a small number of V72 cases during the "DW's going out of business" scare, and I'd like to make immediate use of at least one of them! If it doesn't work on the Daytona I might just order a generic case and dial.Perhaps we can come up with a top movement ring for tabs. In order to BE an Oyster, a Rolex chronograph must have screw-style pushers (the screws lock the pusher closed, which keeps the owner from accidentally pressing it under water). Rep watches often do not get all the details correct. When trying to learn (about gen details), you should check out the watches at your local Authorized Dealer (AD), or, in the case of vintage models, in gen forums. There's a picture of a PN 6239 and the crown looks bigger than 6mm more like 7mm but the shape is more like the 700 crown and has the pump pushers. When I get home I'll post it. Thanks Freddy.
