My son's first vintage dive watch

My son London has just turned 9 and he has been checking my watches more and more lately. So I thought it was time for his first watch. Of course it had to have some vintage blood.

Here is the little bugger with his best friend Bo:

I found this piece for him:

ZRC Nautilus from the early 70s, waterproof to 300m/990ft:

Great patina on the dial markers and bezel:

Solid stainless steel construction:

And thanks to the stretch bracelet I don't have to get another watch for a few years:)

PS: Used to be my mom's dive watch. Quite a rare bird actually...

Yepp fathers and sons...

Myfather gave me the vintage BMW when I had my license fresh as this one had the best craftmenship of metal around me - a car you can buy, a son not.

When marrying I asked for this car to be my wedding car as in early summer even in Germany you can hope for the open cabrio roof.

Two years later he sold it without even asking me if I would like to buy it...

Nice looking Eric..

Lucky son :-) my son (6years) is also looking and playing with my watches, like father like son.

He even said the other day that when i am not here anymore he wants the 356 Speedster -lol

At least he has good taste in cars :)

My little one has a list of stuff he wants as soon as I drop the shovel, his older brother is cool with the life insurance settlement. Nothing like true love :)

Thanks Z. I hope he will follow in his grandma's footsteps: diving license, pilot license, truck driver license and all while she raised me alone and built up a successful business....

I remember my dad taking me on "just buying cigarettes" trips on his old BMW motorcycle. Sometimes we didn't come home for hours. He had a bunch of nice Beemers including the last 3.0 CSI that ever rolled out of the factory in '75 (my dad built their factory's ventilation system) and which was stolen outside a restaurant in Munich two weeks later.... A good man, may he RIP

Amazing gift and a wonderful family heritage in a making. When he'll grow up this will probably be his favorite watch. Being it your Mom's watch makes it that much more special.

I still own the watch my father gave me when I was a kid It's simple quartz watch, but it still runs perfectly and is by far my favorite watch or any object I own, for that matter.
