Josh 5513 <acronym title='Crown Guard'>CG</acronym> Shave

Tried this on a 5513 josh case. To me it seems okay. But I've never held a vintage 5513. Maybe the experts can comment on this.

Shaved off the CG's from the outside and did a little trimming on the inside. Shaved off too where the crown sits on the case.

I filed off a bit from the bottom of the crown and beveled it with a dremel.

Looks better, maybe a little less off of the inside next time. A gen crown might also help

I thought the Josh pearl was decent, but that hole looks too big for an Ofrei pearl

thanks alligoat...this was my practice run...i started off from the inside and did shave off too much...i'll try to shave off the crown to make it look like a 702.

The only thing i will get for this is a crystal and crown. BTW will a TC crown fit the case and tube?

ive played with several gen 5513s, the CGS were always wider and thicker than youd think. almost like a canine tooth in shape. they also seemt o hug the crown more than youd realize. pics are always misleading
