Tribal
Hy Rob, can you tell me to dissamble the Daydisk from an eta 2846 or 2836-2? Is it an easy fix? Thank you...
RWG Technical
It's easy to get it off... It all depends on if you have a stuck on date disk over the original one or not... Normally all you need to do is this Datewheel installed...this is without a stuck on datewheel... See these notches, they are there for a reason, so you can remove the datewheel without taking anything apart... What you do is move the datewheel gently until these line up, and it pops off... If you have a stuck on datewheel like this one, you do the same thing, but you have to feel it because you can't see what your doing... SO you move the datewheel gently while putting a small screwdriver between the wheel and the movement and gently prying on the datewheel disk...once the notches line up, the wheel will pop off the movement... Installation is the reverse but you have to push on the datewheel spring out of the way when you install the wheel... RG

ubiquitous
Tribal- The day disk is held on by a small clip on the center pinion. Simply push the circlip off and lift the day disk.

FxrAndy
Ok resurecting this old one but just goes to show what info we have round here. Does a 2836 have to have the date wheel fitted, for example in an Ingy with a 2836 that does not require the day wheel, does it have to be there? Will it be there? and is changing it the same as on a 2824?
RWG Technical
The movement doesn't have to have a day or datewheel fitted...it may or it may not be there... Depending on the age of the 2824 movement, it may have the same notches for quick removal, or you may have to remove the spring cover to get it off.
