62mas
Hi all, I'd like to shave a rep rlx crown a little to make it more like gen, however I didn't find out how to separate it for the stem. captain swoop
grip the stem and unscrew the crown is the usual way to go, just be careful not to snap the stem!
Justasgood
Pin vice to hold the stem then unscrew.
JoeyB
As already said, grip the stem. A pin vise is good, I use a surgical clamp. Anything that won't damage the stem will do. While holding the stem turn the crown counter-clockwise and it should come right off. But some are glued on, so if you get any resistance stop turning. You can break the stem off into the crown. I've run into a few that were glued on. If it is glued just heat the stem up a bit and then turn the crown. The heat will melt the glue.

Ronin
If it glued or loctited, you will break the stem. To be safe, if the crown is stainless: i usually soak it in some Goo Gone/Goof Off to help disolve glue and remove grime. I then heat it with a soldering iron for about a minute. Then unscrew it. Never broke a stem. Probabably overkill, but better safe then sorry
