Logan Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Looks like Puretimes current domain got seized by Hermes.. Hopefully he's ok and it's just the domain.
Logan Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 Reading over the legal docs it looks like a huge list of replica domains got taken down, 97 in fact. Mostly the crap sellers but Silix prime and Sino are also gone. Trusty's old one is also mentioned but his new one seems fine.
MK... Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 hopefully he's ok please.. i just made an order few days ago, and today i went to check the order status thought i typed the wrong domain.. but after reading the legal docs, found out that it was the right one.. damn.. hopefully! he's ok!!! i need to get my watch!!
Logan Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 Theres a load of updates on RG, he's fine, it was a mass seizure of US registered domains, he'll have a new domain setup within hours..
Jkay Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 This happens often. Nothing is accomplished but the spending of tax dollars on a show performed for the media.
MK... Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 when the new domain sets up can you please tell me the domain?
Jkay Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 PureTime is a dealer here. Watch his own sales area for breaking info.
Ronin Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Domain Seizures are the dumbest attempt to regulate. It is simply whack-a-mole. At the end of the day, give me an IP address or hosts file if they keep this crap up.
Jkay Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 It's an example of laws written by people who have no idea how the Internet works.
TeeJay Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Oh well, that answers my internal debate as to if I should buy a 1665 from Silix, or just stock to my plan to have my 16800 (when converted) as my daily beater
Et3r17al Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Should we be worried about our personal information in their databases, i.e. name, addresses, contact number etc. Can they prosecute you for buying a replica ? Even if they can there are just tooooo many to deal with right? haha..
pcpken Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I got this in a newsletter from Puretime. It seems to be legit. NEW URL As many of you have noticed, www.PureTimeWatch.com was offline, and its replacement was a rather serious looking court notice. Please be rest assured that this is a normal occurrence within the replica industry, and that it affects nothing. The only effect it created was us having to shift PureTime to a new URL instead. We apologize for the inconvenience and 24-hour downtime, but we are now up and running as normal again. Our New URL: www.puretime.co Cheers, --pcpken
PhilFree Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Domain names are seized all the time. If the domain is registered in the US it's easy for them to take it down. You are much better off registering a domain in a more friendly country where the US has no authority.

Jkay Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 also dw´ site is seized now Really. Such a small boutique maker ... what a waste of energy. It's as if McDonalds seized one street vendor's hot dog cart and declared victory
