Guest greeetz
Hi everybody, anybody purchased a RXW recently? What's the overall quality like? do they need reluming ...etc...? Came across a really nice one, but doesn't know much about them. Thanks a lot for your help. Greeetz
Chronus
If it's a genuine RXW, no reluming necessary. There are rep RXWs of their version of the PAM127 though. That will be a standard rep.
Richard Tracy
I was almost tempted to purchase an RXW...as they seemed to have mixed he best of Panerai models, improved upon some aspects, and come in with a lower price..... Also since Pams are not that well known, it makes these a logical alternative.. However that nagging feeling of my distaste for 'Legal Reps' pulled my finger away from the trigger... I fully understand however that I am only one of a few with this problem...
Chronus
Thing pulled me away (apart from no money!) was no display back, but then that's personal choice. I get a nickel allergy from SS in the summer so it would be in hibernation during the summer months

Chronus
Don't forget that a genuine RXW Marina Militare also has proper water resistance and quality control processes, as well as a good strap(s) that come with it.

relaxman
I owned a genuine MM20. I was actually the first I believe to have the hands replated in gold by Jack at IWW. Its a pretty cool watch. I owned it for @ 8 months before selling it for more than I paid for it. Would I buy another No. Over quailty was not bad but not much better than my EL fiddy for 3 times less money. I dont think the straps that came with it are all that either. I just mostly got caught up in the thrill of the chase in getting one from Ken Trading. Here is a link to my post on Big watch Forum back 2004 MM20
chris5264
MM20 Nice mm20. I've thought about getting one of these for at least a year but something always held me back. First, IMO, they should have gold hands not silver. Second, they have the recessed pin problem. third, the solid case back is not my preference, I need to see the movement. I'll still probalby get one because this is one of those few watches that if you get a decent deal, you can turn around and sell it for exactly what you paid for it. In a sense, you can wear it for a few months for free.
Pre V
a genuine RXW MM20 is well-built and has a solid lume...even under daylight you'll be able to witness the illumination in between the sandwich dials. the later batch (circa 2004-2005) has a thick coat of AR on the saphhire compared to the previous mineral crystal versions. Do you have a rough idea about the average price for a gen RXW MM ? Cheers, Greetz
chris5264
Do you have a rough idea about the average price for a gen RXW MM ? Cheers, Greetz They go for aound 1,000 USD used, I've seen them as high as 1400 and as low as 950, but they always sell eventually. They go for 950 new, if you get the chance to buy them, I missed the last open window for this.
Guest greeetz
I've had both Gen and rep version (1 rep from WLD and one from TTK) and I was more impressed by the box the gen came in than anything else. Get a rep...the Original is really a rep of a rep anyway and the differences are very minute, although you will probably want to stick a new strap on it. My gen did not feature the nice AR coating some have and now most reps feature...looking at Davidsens version...spot on perfect. I traded an Oris TT1 diver and 200 cash for the gen and sold it for $1100. I see some sell at $1500 now There is a member at TRC with one at under a grand TRC RXW Thanks star ! Very helpful information indeed. Cheers, Greetz

Solid workmanship and beautiful dial. Has good weight and heft on the writst. I think the RXWs make very good watches. cheers
spock
i've a original ginza rxw mm. It's the best rep ever. I've had several MM reps from our dealers, they aren't that great, sorry. The Ginza RXW has several advantages. 1.Real swiss eta movement 2.Thick ar coating glass 3.crown with cg is impressive, reliable 3.water resistant is great 4.The lume is outstanding 5.the Ford box is a master piece, included. bergeon tools ans 2 straps. I've paid usd 750 for a new Ginza RXW. Let's see/ What's the price for a Ford box? What's the price for 2 great straps What's the price for Bergeon tools? So what's the real price for the watch?? I think usd 750 for the total package is a very good price.
