Datlore001
I finally got around to cutting the stem last night on my little 9401 build. Specs are: Josh 5512 case Clark's T19 NOS ETA 2770 no-date movement (21.6k.. I know, the 2776 was 28.8k, but I couldn't find one) NOS Tudor 9401 service dial Yuki hands It is keeping fantastic time, and it feels and looks fantastic. There are a few things I want to do, though; namely, put in the gen 703 crown and tube I have, have the lug holes drilled, and maybe have the CGs shaped. Eventually I want a gen insert. Right now she's wearing great, though. Apologies for the poor picture. I'll try to get some more tonight with a real camera. Nanuq
Very nice! Consider a 702 crown... it works GREAT with the CGs on those cases.
Datlore001
Very nice! Consider a 702 crown... it works GREAT with the CGs on those cases. Thanks for the tip. I've actually passed on a couple of 702s because I already have a 703. One other thing I want to do is get a Yuki rotor for this thing. Has anybody brushed off the Polex 5513 engraving between the lugs on theirs?
Ephry73
Looks really good. Enjoy it and wear it well. E

Datlore001
Wow. Big difference! Guess I'm off to look for a 702!
woof*
I hadn't thought about that Nanuq. That's a huge improvement. If only 702's were as cheap as the others. I have a 702 set that was given to me by a nice guy(ubi) and is with J right now building my 5512. Since I have a few subs built on josh cases maybe I'll start collecting 702's I'm amazed it's that much improvmennt. Thanks for posting the pics Op: Nice Tudor! Really came out nice! Ephry73
It definitely helps to have that lower profile crown. You can also shave the area where the crown rests(you'll have to remove the crown tube for this) but it works wonders and you can control it a bit more. Nanuq
Yes, the 702 is a great improvement. It's the Grandpappy of crowns. Bear in mind the aspect ratios of the 2 pictures is a little skewed. It's not quite as dramatic a difference as it appears.
