About that, the caliber 400 is the replacement for Rolex 4030, right ? I see a date system, is it a problem or not ? I want to be sure to catch the good movement Also, any idea about a "right" price these days ? Thanks R. Absolutely not, I'm pretty new in this model because it was not possible to me to source the gen 4030 parts needed to convert the movement for gen hands. Now I can, so I'm starting to look.... Thanks for the tip...!!!!! Much appreciated ! PS: They are all the same movement ? Only re-branding ? Have you an idea for a fair price these days ? BigCrown had one listed at $1,600 but I believe it sold. Of course you are probably used to it since you've built a couple of v72 Daytonas ... This one looks pretty clean actually from what can be seen in the pictures, so you might be able to get away with not doing it immediately. Good luck! Hi,some times ago I "made" a Daytona and bought an El Primero movement for 900 euros,the seller had 2 of them,if you want I can ask him.Be careful about Daytona project,it's very expensive.I found an original case ,dial,bezel and band but ,with same money you can buy an original Submariner or Explorer. Thanks for the input :-) I heard servicing is between 200 and 600€, depending of who is doing this... But it is a very special movement, I think I will not give it to anyone.... I have asked the seller if he can get the movement serviced for me... I will see !!! I think I will not use unserviced movement, because it will be some big pain in case I need it in 1 or 2 years... I heard hands are not liking to be removed / replaced many times... Plus it will be very difficult to find a watchmaker who can service the El Primero AND a replica.... To me, that's the biggest drawback on this kind of projects ! wow that first movado looks fantastic .. You are absolutely right ! I would kill me to remove the movement on this one... In 1 case, he sent me pics of a dial that I declined (printing was terrible), yet he sent it anyway with a promise to exchange it promptly if I did not like it. Many weeks later, I am still awaiting the promised replacements. You would think that, at Phong's prices, he would, at the very least, make absolutely certain that his stock matches his pics or give top priority to mistakes when they occur.
