waddler Posted June 23, 2012 Report Posted June 23, 2012 Just looking for some expert advice. I'm going to buy an IWC rep and want a model that is close to the Gen but more importantly has a very reliable movement. Appreciate suggestions from the experts out there.

So if you guys don't mind giving me a hit list that would be much appreciated. I must say I like the look of the new Big Pilot that has hit the reputable rep sites.
chrgod Posted June 23, 2012 Report Posted June 23, 2012 The Mark XVI and Portofino with Asian 2892 are good replicas, but the movement is not as reliable as the 2824/2836- powered watches. The Pilot Chronograph should be ok. Get a preventive service, keep it out of water and impacts and you are good to go for many years.
waddler Posted July 7, 2012 Author Report Posted July 7, 2012 Thanks. Just took delivery of a Big Pilot (latest rep version). Can you tell from the second hand motion that it's a rep or is it close enough to the original?
