997 s Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 Hi, What is the best choice for a Rolex Daytona 116520 black face Does BK carry this? Limit is around 1000 USD incl mods P
FxrAndy Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 As far as i know there is no best version of this, they all suffer from the modded seconds at 6 movement potential problems, you can chuck as much cash at it as you want but you wont solve that issue completly untill you chuck enough cash at it to buy a gen
997 s Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 Thnx for an answer i did not want to hear ;-(
cc33 Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 Why not go for a nice vintage instead, for 1000$ spinmaster can build you one with gen parts. No issue with movement for the older ones as they had the seconds at 9.
irolexu Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 there ya go...hope you can pull off a 30,000 dollar watch as opposed to the 8-10k watch you want to replicate
997 s Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 I am aiming for a vintage also to put side by side with my Franken DRSD in the box But i really like a 116520 as well
justlounging Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Not too familiar with Daytonas but arent there any modern Daytonas with secs@9 that use the same movement as the Zenith? Correct me if I'm wrong.. I am also looking out for a good enough Daytona..else it'll be gen for me..
LeSentier Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 there is NO decent 116520 or 16520 with sec@6! only way is to build one by yourself if you can spend $ 4000+ go with a vintage one if you want to have an accurate daytona, or buy the gen. no other possibilties yet best, J
Watchmeister Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 You are in no-mans land in that price range. EIther buy a better existing rep for a lot less and be satisfied with its flaws, recognize that a major upgrade is $4k plus (if there is a decent case available anymore, or give in and buy the gen.
BlackFlash Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 I found a site that has the 116520 with secs at the 9 and Asian 7750 movement for $369.95. What else should I be looking for? Why is it so sought after?

Why is it so sought after? secs@9 is not accurate. go vintage instead or risk or risk a sec@6 and hope it will work for a long time
