slask111
I just had this thougt, since i know alot (well some) off people that earn ALOT of money.. and they still go rep (or no watch at all). They just wont spend the money for a gen. That to me is a true sign off someone that watch to be rich. Just look at Warren B, does he sport an AP? So my question is this, do you know any celebs or insaine rich people that wears reps? P.s Would LOVE to se Stallone with a rep
TeeJay
I've often wondered about Adam Savage, one of the hosts of Mythbusters. The guy goes through a lot of watches.. On the topic of Mythbusters, DAMN that Kari Byron is fine :tu:

asciwhite
Celebs usually get most of their stuff for free.... Huge promotion for the brand they wear.. I bet Stallone gets most of his Pam`s for free...

duke1973
One things for certain about OJ, if his TT Sub was real (back then I'm sure it was) he's sold it by know to pay Nicole Browns parents and his lawyers for his latest arrest! Robbery was it??
Logan
I wonder about the Top Gear guys.. the watches they wear are almost always one that decent reps are made of.. could be coincidence..
Serge D
Panerai has a strict no freebies policy, noone can get a free pam. Stallone has his pams bought for his castings by the producers, and he gets to keep them. Dig up an article "How Panerai Got Hot" from 2003, its in there. Serge. TeeJay
I wonder about the Top Gear guys.. the watches they wear are almost always one that decent reps are made of.. could be coincidence.. Clarkson (being the unimaginative tosspiece that he is) pretty much only ever wears Bond Watches. First the Omega SMP, then the Omega Planet Ocean. I have spotted him wearing an Omega Railmaster on occasion, but it is rare, and he strikes me as someone who goes from an old watch to a new one, rather than a collector. He's definitely too much of an over-compensating snob to lower himself to wearing a rep, although he did briefly sport a rep Omega (for filming purposes) while on a shoot in China (wether he kept it or fed it to Hammond as a joke is another matter) The one thing I do agree with Clarkson on, was when he said "The only thing worse than a fake Rolex, is a real one..." I tend to tune out May altogether, as he just bores me to tears. I have noticed him wearing some nice pieces now and again, but I suspect he's too much of 'a purist' to wear reps (for totally different reasons to Clarkson). Hammond is the only one I could actually see wearing reps (and is the only one of the trio I actually like) but, knowing the torment he would get from Clarkson for doing so, I suspect his collection is totally legit. danza1812
Daniel Craig wore some rubber metallic looking planet oceans during filming of quantum of solace, to prevent damage to both the watch and the actor during stunts. Does that count?

Does that count? Really? That sounds a tad unrealistic, given how for Casino Royale, they superglued sand/mud to one of the Planet Oceans for the one of the scenes (it was auctioned in that trashedused condition after filming and still commanded a pretty penny )

Yup! I would agree that the "Hampster's" collection is probably legit! And if it wasnt, I would congragulate him on a fine rep collection! Clarkson, I would call out in public for wearing a rep even if he had on a Seiko! - Im not a fan of some one I being an @ss just because they can be. You see so many Vintage Daytonas on stars these days as their daily beaters, I wonder how many of them are fully original pieces or pieces "put together" for them. Hammond has the funds for his collection to be gen, and I would suspect that reps would just open him up to too much (additional) ridicule from Clarkson for him to risk owning any, but he definitely has good, and varied, taste in watches Clarkson, he just deserves to get kicked square in the nuts. I rather liked the time Trinny and Susannah went on, and Trinny was glaring at him like he was the scum of the Earth Hard to say on the Daytona issue, simply because the folks I've seen wearing them, have the funds to be able to not only afford the originals, but more importantly, treat them like the daily beaters they were originally designed as, irrespective of current market value. The watches were never meant to be collected and kept as safe-queens, but worn and used daily, and it takes a celebrity bank balance (or reps ) to be able to afford to treat a 'luxury brand' like the cheapest quartz
