Gen. You can spot it a mile away.

Do you know the "spot the differences" game with two pictures where you need to find what's not the same? Try it :)

A few hints for your game:

  1. Position of the crown

  2. Position of the data window on the dial

  3. Depth of the date wheel

  4. Caseback (I won't tell what)

It goes to show that for the untrained eye, the AP ROO's are pretty good out of the box. But there are flaws if you know what to look for.

I'm still quite pleased with the two rep ROO's I have.

My guess was also gen since this guy is Mr big shot in US

But must say after comparing with my 750 usd " incl Domi spa" ROO , I really think it s good shit

Thnx for giving me input

I'm a noob here and looking to create a close to gen "Franken" or modded AP Safari (or similar metal bezel ROO), and also a hublot... What would you guys recommend I start with, who do I go to, and what would I change out?

For Franken APs, It will not be a road commonly travelled, it will take a lot of patience and effort and time, but the rewards are justified.

For a start,

a. Swiss 2892 movement + Dubois Depraz module (heart of the franken)

b. gen dial + tachy ring

c. gen hands (a bitch to find these days)

d. modification to the case to allow for crown recess

e. pushers rounded off

f. gen or aftermarket strap and buckle

g. thinner case

h. double AR cyclops

You need someone to assemble the parts together, and to perform the necessary modifications for you. Domi is one, The Zigmeister is another.

You will need a lot of luck and perseverance to build an AP franken. Alternatively, you might find it easier to buy it off someone already owning one..

It would not be cheap though. Expect to spend $3000 onwards...
