Here we have Pliny the Elder, who would have greatly appreciated the astonishing depth and availability of quality time pieces. Unfortunately, Pliny the Elder lived in ancient Roman times

and was relegated to the sundial wristwatch. We have to account for the fact that a mechanical clock would not be developed for another 700 years.

Here we have Pliny the Younger. Son, of Pliny the Elder. While nearly as famous as his Dad in Ancient Roman times, The hapless younger Pliny also succombed to the same fate as Dad, a sundial wristwatch. Be assured though, that both Pliny's owned several of the finest sundial wrist watches

in the Empire. They had watches made by Rolecks, Brightling, Patek Phillopious, and BVLXGARI.

That is the Pliny I'm talking about Nanuq. Actually, I thought this posty would be relegated to the looney bin the first day. I'm impressed

Roman times offered so many topics from vomitoriums to Christian eating lions, they had it all. ;)
