dieselpower
On receiving and admiring my 1665 back from Deutschland I was flicking through stuff on the web and came across a website that was banging on about seadwellers and the author coined a phrase which I think is wholly appropriate but I had never heard used before. That being Sea Dweller 1665 "Double Pink" and here is the photo of the watch to which he referred: I have noticed myself that my reps are beginning to take on a patina of their own which is nice. I have a 1665 dial that started out a double red and is now a double very light pink!

Nanuq
You try and start a serious debate and this is what you get. Okay I'll try to behave. I've seen one from 1971 that's gone chocolate brown and the indices are pure white from tons of time in the sun. Its red lettering hasn't faded though. Maybe the red that fades on some was painted on afterward?
dieselpower
I have no idea. I can only speak of my reps and I'm in the UK, not famed for its hours of sunshine but my first cartel 1665 has faded so much it's almost a born again Great White! Nanuq
Niiiiiiiiiiice. I wonder if you could encourage the dial to fade to chocolate? Heat lamp action? My MBW spent some time in godforsaken Oklahoma, in incredible heat, and it took on a tropical tint.
