Double pink

On receiving and admiring my 1665 back from Deutschland I was flicking through stuff on the web and came across a website that was banging on about seadwellers and the author coined a phrase which I think is wholly appropriate but I had never heard used before. That being Sea Dweller 1665 "Double Pink" and here is the photo of the watch to which he referred:

I have noticed myself that my reps are beginning to take on a patina of their own which is nice. I have a 1665 dial that started out a double red and is now a double very light pink!

You try and start a serious debate and this is what you get.

Okay I'll try to behave. :Jumpy:

I've seen one from 1971 that's gone chocolate brown and the indices are pure white from tons of time in the sun. Its red lettering hasn't faded though. :g:

Maybe the red that fades on some was painted on afterward?

Niiiiiiiiiiice. I wonder if you could encourage the dial to fade to chocolate? Heat lamp action? :g:

My MBW spent some time in godforsaken Oklahoma, in incredible heat, and it took on a tropical tint.
