freddy333 Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 243 at Fiorano Nice, but I sense a story attached to that picture. Can we get some background & see the rest of the car ?
txcollector Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Nice, but I sense a story attached to that picture. Can we get some background & see the rest of the car ? The car is a 2008 430 Spider. The setting: the streets next to Fiorano (Ferrari test track in - next to Maranello, Italy). You can see the track in the background. The 430 has 5 driving settings: snow, street, sport, race and no CST(meaning no traction control). Only the first 2 are street legal. The sound and the power are unbelievable. When you floor the gas pedal it feels like extra cylinders are kicking it. It peaks at 8500 RPM. Truly unforgettable. The car feels glued to the asphalt. When you think you are pushing too much in a corner you just keep accelerating. Amazing. 1

txcollector Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 Why are you there? Are you taking the Ferrari driving course or are you on a buying trip? I was actually visiting the Maserati factory ( a friend of mine arranged) and decided to take a spin on a 430 next to Fiorano.
freddy333 Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 Actually, I prefer Maseratis to Ferraris. Got any pics from your visit there? Probably worth a separate thread if you do.
Ephry73 Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 I'm with you Freddy. However, ferraris from the 60s are pretty sweet vehicles with great lines.
freddy333 Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 I love some Ferraris (like the Daytona or 430 Italia), but, in general, I prefer Maserati's more understated designs. Think Hublot vs Rolex.
Ephry73 Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 Understood sir. Definitely. Specially if you compare the Quattroporte Maseratis to the 4 door ferraris. Ugh.
